Our Team

  • Hannah Henry

I am an artist, designer, educator, and mother of four. I developed Teach Truth to study and share what I was never taught in school. Though I was first inspired by the work of Nikole Hannah-Jones, I have since widened my scope to learning about and connecting with the First Peoples who created the paths we tread in California. I am now teaching 5th grade at a public community school in Napa.

  • Dale Allender

Dale Allender, Ph.D. is an associate professor of language and literacy in the Department of Teaching Credentials at California State University, Sacramento where he teaches courses in academic literacy, ethnic studies and racial social justice education.

  • Patricia van Leeuwaarde Moonsammy

As an anthropologist and woman of Caribbean ancestry, I think critically about representation, power, the construction of histories, and the cultural expressions that reflect individual and group worldviews and experiences. I choose to work as an applied anthropologist within the field of higher education to transform institutions to be more just, inclusive, and more reflective of the beautiful diversity of the world. My engagement with Teach Truth enables me to collaborate with others similarly committed to positive change through community connection, learning, and dialogue.
